/ MY STORY /
We are a small, independently owned bakery that primarily makes: bagels, healthy cakes, unhealthy cakes, and pumpkin pies. To see a full list of our product offering, visit our shop.
Bruja's Bakery can be broken into 3 categories: Pumpkin Pie, Bagels, and Everything Else.
While sitting on the bus one October night in 2016, I started thinking about Thanksgiving and where in the world I was going to get a pumpkin pie. I thought I could buy one- but where? That proved to be difficult, so I decided to make one myself. Lo and behold, it came out so well that I decided I could be the one to sell pies to my fellow American amigos needing a pie on Thanksgiving. I put an ad on Facebook and was blown away by the response I received. Thanksgiving 2016, I sold over 35 pies, and by Thanksgiving 2017, that number more than doubled- I sold 78 pies! Thanksgiving 2018, just under 100. People loved the pies, and I loved making them.
Do bagels need an explanation? Being from Philadelphia, bagels were a part of my life from as far back as I can remember. After moving to Spain, I tried my hand at making the perfect, chewy, New York style bagels from home and have perfected my recipe over time. Today, we provide 6 types of bagels that are all perfectly chewy, doughy, and crisp on the outside. They are made with traditional methods- long rise time, then boiled, dipped in the toppings of your choice, and baked until golden brown.
As for everything else, it varies on the season. Right now, there is a large offering of 'healthy' cakes, meaning cakes with no added sugars, eggs, butter, flour, or, dairy. Of course, we also offer other goodies full of butter and sugar, so there is something for everyone.

WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM?
Oh, and if you are wondering where the name "Bruja's Bakery" comes from, it's because Luis (the boyfriend), has always called me "Bruja", meaning 'witch', ever since I was an evil witch for Halloween of 2015. You should see the looks we get when he calls me 'Bruja' in public ;)
